Salween
is another main river besides Mekong in southeastern Asia.
Originated in Tibet, it flows through Yunnan Province to Myanmar.
Such minorities as Lisu, Nu and Tibetan live along the valley of
Salween. It is amazing that different religions survive in harmony
and you will see many churches stay together with temples and
monasteries in this area. The route starts from Liuku and ends in
Bingzhongluo along the gorge of Salween, which plunges 3200 meters
into river. It is a new destination for the explorers!

Meet

KUNMING:
Excursion to Stone
Forest with visit of a minority village on the way. Visit old town Kunming
with bird and flower market.

KUNMING - LIJIANG (2500 meters):
Kunming/Lijiang by air in the morning, 40 minutes.
Visit Yak Meadow

Baisha Fresco.
Lunch and dinner at local
restaurants.

LIJIANG - DALI (2100 meters):
Overland drive Lijiang to Dali, 191 kilometers, or 3 hours.
Visit Xinhua Village
on the way (This is a village with long history of silverware making

Tibetan Area), Xizhou and
Zhoucheng Villages of
Bai Minority with local temple, families
and temple, tie-dyed
cloth workshop.
Cruise on Erhai Lake
with private boot.

DALI - LIUKU: Visit
Three Pagodas before
drive to Liuku, about 6 hours, cross the Mekong River.

LIUKU - FUGONG:
Visit Salween Bridge,
Buddhist Temple in Liuku.
Then drive to Fugong along Salween River, 130 kilometers, or
4 hours. Visit Discarded Town (It
was the main town of Salween River from 1912-1978, in 1978
the town was discarded. Now we can see remains of the town half of
century years ago),
landscape of Salween Gorge.

FUGONG - GONGSHAN:
Overland drive Fugong to Gongshan by coach, 140 kilometers,
or 4 hours. Visit Stone Moon
and landscape, villages of

GONGSHAN:
Excursion to Bingzhongluo,
40 kilometers, or 1 hour. Visit Church
in Chongding Village,

the church (on Sunday Mass only), the
